al fresko is a San Diego–based graze catering and event experience brand, creating thoughtful gatherings centered around food, nature, and connection.

about al fresko

al fresko was born from a deep love of food, nature, and gathering, and a belief that the moments we share around the table matter.

What began as an intuitive offering for friends and family has grown into a full-scale event and experience brand, serving thoughtfully curated gatherings throughout San Diego and beyond.

At its core, al fresko is about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, nourished, and connected.

The name al fresko speaks to our philosophy: timeless, open-air, and rooted in freshness.

Inspired by meals enjoyed outdoors, lingering conversations, and the ease of gathering in good company, our work celebrates food as both an art form and an invitation to slow down and savor the finer things.

I’m Jenny, the creative force behind al fresko and the founder of al fresko academy.

I’m a surfer, coffee lover, and lifelong traveler, and much of my inspiration comes from time spent exploring new places and cultures. Food, beauty, and gathering have always been the common thread, something I shared instinctively with friends and family long before it became a business.

Raised in Texas, food was always a language of love. Travel and time spent exploring deepened my belief in intentional hospitality, as well as in the quiet magic that happens when people slow down and gather around a table.

al fresko experience began as an intuitive offering, built from lived experience, curiosity, and a willingness to try. Over the years, I learned firsthand what it takes to turn a creative passion into a sustainable business—through trial and error, uncertainty, growth, and reinvention.

That journey is what led me to create al fresko Academy.

The Academy exists to support those who feel pulled toward something more, whether that’s starting a business, creating a side hustle, or simply learning how to host with confidence and intention.

It’s a place to share the lessons I learned the hard way, offer a grounded blueprint, and remind others that you don’t need permission to begin.

When I’m not designing farm-to-table spreads or curating thoughtful outdoor experiences, you’ll likely find me somewhere south of the border in Mexico chasing sunsets, longboarding, riding horses, and living in rhythm with nature.

That way of life continues to shape how I work, host, and teach: with presence, intention, and care.
